About Me

I graduated from UT School of Nursing Ft. Worth (now  UTA  College of Nursing) in 1975.  Spend ~ 20 years at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas.   Received my Masters in Nursing at UTA .  I am a nurse practitioner working at Endocrine Associates of Dallas.  I am also a certified diabetic educator and adjunct professor with TWU -Dallas  nurse practitioner program.

I married Harvey in 1979.  We have 2 sons.  Matt is 26 y/o,  - Texas Tech  2007 .  He is an engineer at Cummins.  Nick is 21 y/o and a senior at Oklahoma State, majoring in engineering.

Both boys played baseball in high school and we continue to be die hard Ranger fans, through thick and thin. Many of our vacations had been skiing in Colorado.   Over the past few years, we decided to head for the beach.  Cabo has been a great find.

Hard to believe it has been nearly 40 years, time flies.

About Me

I started at UTA the summer of 71, then moved on to UT School of Nursing at Fort Worth, graduated from there in 75.  Worked in Arlington for a year, then married (way too young!) and moved to Lawton Oklahoma.  Lived there for 7 years, getting a Masters in Nursing at OU.  Accepted a position at Frankfurt Army Medical Center in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, and stayed in Germany for 7 years, having 2 kids in the process.  Divorced and moved to Washington State to continue to work for the Army, where I still live.

Currently working as a Community and Population Health Nurse for the McChord Medical Clinic at McChord Field/Joint Base Lewis McChord (all new military type organization).  I can retire in 15 months and 3 days (but who's counting!)  Love what I do, but want to do less of it.

Raised 2 kids as a single parent for 20 years (my ex died in 95), then married 2 years ago to the best thing that ever happened to me....

Have sung for 2 years with a Christian Choral group called Breath of Aire, (www.breathofaire.org).  I still say "Singing is Believing"

My daughter Kate will 28 soon, is very beautiful, very smart, and very available (if anyone has a gorgeous loving son around),  My son John, 25, is currently in Tech School at Shepard AFB in Wichita Falls, training for maintenance on the B2.

I travel back and forth to Texas frequently, to see my dad, other family and friends.

I'm planning to attend the 40th reunion, as I've not been around or even know about the previous ones.  Sounds like the party recently was really fun.  I like fun!

About Me

Graduated from UT Austin in May 1974 and married my husband, Steve, in August of that year.  We moved to San Antonio two weeks later where he attended dental school.  (Great name for a dentist:  Dr. Payne!).  We loved San Antonio so much that we stayed.  It is close enough for weekend fishing trips to the coast, hunting trips to South Texas or relaxing stays in the Hill Country.

We have three daughters:  Kendall (29),  Aleigh (24) and Susannah (22).  And we have one grandson with another on the way.  Live has been so good.

I have been working as the Administrator for an large ophthalmology practice for 25 years.  Prior to that I worked for Datapoint, a computer company, as Manager of Customer Education.

Our dream is to retire on some acreage in the Hill Country.

About Me

I married July 1969 and have one daughter and one son from that marriage...Daughter Josette now age 41 and son Joshua now age 40.  I divorced in 1971 and remarried in 1974 to Donald Leach.  He was in the Air Force and we married in Basel Switzerland while he was stationed at Ramstein, Germany.  I have four more sons from that marriage...Jared age 35, Michael age 33, Jacob age 31 and Isaac age 29 and two step children, Eddie and LaDawn.  We lived in Germany, two tours in Virginia and two tours in San Antonio and then in 1988 moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho to retire in the beautiful North Idaho mountains.  We built a beautiful log home in the mountains but in 1998 my husband was diagnosed with Cancer and so we returned to Texas where I was widowed November 1998.

After coming back to Texas I reconnected with the man I almost married when I was 20 years old,  Larry Powell.  I have been so wonderfully blessed to have him back in my life.  We married December 2002 and he was a real sport taking on my enormous family.  I got Larry and his now 26 year old son Justin.  Larry took on me, six children, 18 grandchildren (19th on the way) and our 4th Great Grandchild on the way.  Not to mention a couple of other stepchildren and several step grandchildren.  But everyone is healthy and happy.  All my children love and accepted Larry and Justin but I have to say that I got the better end of this deal.  But really, LIfe is Good.

Larry works in Comercial Real Estate and I do medical billing for a group of orthopaedic surgeons at Huguley.  We live at this time in North Arlington.

Both my parents are still alive and doing well and living in Mansfield and I have a sister Connie Harrington living in Arlington and a sister Sherry Abbott living in Granbury.

About Me

After a sudden and shocking move from Arlington after our Junior year, I graduated from Atlanta, TX.  I had been elected to serve as Boy's Social Chairman for our senior year at AHS, and was devastated when I had to move away.  Never got over it and always missed you guys.

Soon after graduating from high school, I married. Then, finished college, and had two children, Ben,32; and Sarah,30.  They in turn blessed me with 5 beautiful grandchildren.  After several early career job choices, I finally settled into teaching and coaching in East Texas, and lastly in McKinney. As a coach, I was fortunate to win Texas State Championships in both football and baseball, and made five consecutive state championship appearances in golf.

In 2009, I decided to follow my life-long dream of living in Colorado.  I am now married and enjoy photography, skiing, hiking, camping, and simply living here in the beautiful San Juan Mountains of Colorado!

About Me

After 14 years in the oil industry, I've spent the last 14 1/2 years at three Universities.  I teach Geology and Environmental Science - now at Midwestern State University after 9 years in Georgia.  I was unbelievably glad to get back to Texas 2 1/2 years ago!  Many of my students are going to be K-5 teachers, and my goal is to make science something they will love - not dread - to teach.

My "hobby" is dancing to contemporary Christian music at my church, where I also chair the Church Growth committee.  I've just started teaching Sunday school for the little kids and I've got to get ready to cover Commandments 7 and 8 for five-year olds!  I think I have some "splaining" to do....

I do a lot of volunteer work with professional and community organizations, including the River Bend Nature Center here in Wichita Falls.  Don't miss it if you ever come up here - it's amazing.  I also have a consulting practice that involves training K-12 inservice teachers to teach Environmental and Earth sciences.  My favorite part of the Earth Science workshops is giving the teachers their very own rocks, minerals, and fossils (including fossil poop).  I've just completed my first online course offering for High School Earth Science teachers, which will go live this spring.

About Me

Hi everyone. I must confess I am using a photo that is ten years old. What can I say? I was always the mom taking photos of my kids, never of myself, you know. Plus my ex husband always cut my head off when he was in control of the camera. (must of been a sign of things to come)  I will attempt to add a recent photo..fingers crossed. My new business, YourChiefMarketingOfficer.info is keeping me busy. Any leads from you guys would be appreciated.  I am an empty nester but have a sweet jack russle roomie. My oldest son works for the OPRAH Winfrey Network and my youngest graduated from Stanford last year, stayed in Palo Alto and is digging for gold. Running out of space and your patience. In a nutshell, life is good ( but could always be better :))Luckily I have kept my sense of humor and unfortunately have grown an inch since '71. I hope to run into all of you AHS "kids" soon.
